Kousalya participated in Paaduta Teeyaga(season -1) in 1998 and won that series.. It is the platform which turned Kousalya's career as a playback singer.. Kousalya proudly states that "At the time of my participation, I had just completed my M.A Carnatic music. Upto then I know only carnatic(classical) music.By this program only, I learnt how to modulate voice for different feels and for different expressions..Its the first as well as the Best platform for my career"....
